Dh Saya install samba di server gentoo. smb.conf nya sbb (saya jiplak dari http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/quick-samba-howto.xml dan buang yang berhubungan dengan printer):

Saya juga sudah buat direktori /home/samba/publik,. Setelah distart, di log.smbd : [2006/06/06 21:08:14, 0] printing/print_cups.c:cups_cache_reload(85) Unable to connect to CUPS server localhost - Connection refused (Saya tidak berrencana install printer). di log.nmbd : [2006/06/06 21:08:14, 0] nmbd/nmbd.c:main(668) Netbios nameserver version 3.0.14a started. Di worgroup computers di WindowsXP sudah muncul icon samba, tapi kalau diklik, responnya: Host (nama host server samba) tidak dapat diakses dst. Waktu saya coba smbclient -L localhost, responnya : timeout connecting to 127.0.0.1:445 timeout connecting to 127.0.0.1:139 Error connecting to 127.0.0.1 (Operation already in progress) Connection to localhost failed port 445 dan 139 sudah dibuka.
