focus problem with non-visible form fields

I have a very simple Form with 1 TextField and 1 Submit. The form is hidden
(style.display=none) by default because it is in a popup-style box.
Tapestry tries to focus the TextField automatically which causes a scripting
error in IE: can't move the focus to the control because it is invisible...
