Really? I do svn switches at least twice a day with subclipse and have never
had a problem in that regard, ever.

I am on linux using the svn-javahl bindings over the pure java
implementation though. The only other environment difference is that we keep
our subversion servers very up to date.

I'm going to venture to guess that the actual pure java client is the
culprit and not subclipse OR svn. (based on what you said..)
