AFAIK other than jwcid it's the first "outsider" Tapestry attribute.
Isn't it better to handle it with jwcid, like this:

<span jwcid="i18n.property.mykey">Sample Text</span>

Any jwcid with i18n.property. prefix is considered a localized proeprty
key.
