What you have should work, as far as I can tell.

PropertyHelper.forClass() is supposed to search up the 
inheritance chain first, then up the interface chain 
second, saving java.lang.Object for last.

I'd need to see code to understand any better.

What are you doing that oridinary JavaBeans properties 
aren't enough?
