Well, I agree that the free version of Eclipse is missing some
plugins useful for things like generic XML editing, or J2EE development. And
that the plugins out there
in the open source movement that strive to address this are immature (but
maturing rapidly!).
But you get all those missing features plus more in WSAD which is IBM's
commercial
version of Eclipse. And, since WSAD is Eclipse, Spindle will work in it!

I used JBuilder for years and never liked it. When it went to using
swing that was the end for me.
