So, what you want is something like:

And the generated HTML should produce a portal-like box, with "Content tjhat
goes in the box." in the middle?

That's actually pretty easy.  Use the InsertWrapped component instead of the
InsertBlock component.  InsertWrapped finds its parent component, and finds
the content that the parent wraps from the grandparent's template and
renders that content.  Content is the generic term covering static HTML and
components.
