Perhaps the difference between 2.2-beta-1 and 2.2 will 
be the addition of such components.

There was talk, by Mind Bridge, of creating a component 
repository.  If I had a machine with a permanent IP I'd 
think about putting that together.

Certaintly, the 2.2 changes such as libraries will make 
this much, much easier ... libraries were created to 
facilitate reusable libraries.

You mention a pop-up calendar.  Using libraries, you 
could create a Tapestry page to be loaded into the 
popup, that is private to your library.  You still need 
JavaScript to pop it up in a controlled manner (without 
decorations, etc.).

I've been thinking about a non-visual component that 
could be a more authoritative browser sniffer and could 
report the exact details of the client up to the server.
