I think a lot of people would be interested in such a project. We are planning development of similar components and would love to contribute. Perhaps the sourceforge idea would work well.
Has anyone thought this through enough to have a list of desired components? Luke Galea Software Development BlueCat Networks 905-762-5225 -----Original Message----- From: Howard M. For the moment, such components can be donated to the Tapestry project proper, where they will appear in the net.sf.tapestry.contrib-*.jar. As the user base expands, there are plans for a CPAN style repository of component libraries. The library mechansim, new in 2.2, exists to support this cleanly (it allows libraries to build off of other libraries, and to provide components, pages and engine services). Alternately, you could start a new project, perhaps at SourceForge. A lot of the coordination is taking place in this mailing list, and on the Tapestry wiki: http://tapestry.sf.net/wiki ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Jackson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 9:00 PM Subject: [Tapestry-developer] Community based library of 3rd party components? Hi there, We are just about to do some standard client side components such as calendar pickers, pull down menus and tree controls. But rather than reinvent the wheel I was wondering if there is a community library of components that we can utililize and even contribute to. I think with the Echo application they have a community based project called Echo-point that is a library that contains things such as calendar pickers, tree controls, etc. Paul Jackson Meridian Informatics Phone: (02) 8233 7564 Mobile: 0418 855 496 ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of that same old cell phone?
