I'm using Axis at work, and I don't particularily like it, especially the way we are using it. I want to switch to GLUE, which is nifty and free (even though it is closed source).
Most of these frameworks can be represented as a servlet that could exist as an alternative to the application servlet. No one has made a compelling argument why Tapestry should support web services, or why it would be better or easier than a project that specializes in web services, like Axis or GLUE. From my work creating some real web services, I don't see Tapestry as being helpful. Web services aren't like customized HTML web applications, its really more like RMI using complex XML over HTTP. I mean, even a "hello, world" web service involves hundreds of lines of XML of the WSDL and dozens of lines for the SOAP message ... I think its some fiendish plot by COBOL programmers to reassert their style of development on the world! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Magic Hat" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Tapestry Developer'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, October 09, 2002 5:56 AM Subject: [Tapestry-developer] WebServices? > Hello, > > Is there any plan/interest in providing WebServices through Tapestry > like Zope does?
