I'm on the hunt for a simple security framework that will mesh well with Tapestry. The application that we're developing is pretty vanilla, as far as security model requirements go--users, groups, roles, ACLs, persistence through an relational database.

I've fooled around some with the services provided by Fulcrum (part of the Jakarta Turbine project), but I'm not so excited about the Singleton services model, I don't have a good feeling about the long-term future of the project as a whole (from reading their development list), and feel that the zen tax on Turbine is too high.

Has anyone here had success with Fulcrum, or any other pre-existing models, in developing Tapestry-based applications? Has anyone had bad experiences?

Thanks,
Paul
