This may be a kind of pedantic point, but you should never ever propose a vote as a reply to something. Always put something like " [VOTE] Nominate Geoffry Longman as a committer" in the subject. From a practicality standpoint, if you're an apache project, given you're a web framework its likely your mail volume will increase to the point you won't read every mail... :-O From a "fairness" standpoint someone who might have voted against (or for) may not have the chance to do so not realizing it was being voted on. Its the small inadvertant oversights that give birth to the really good conspiracy theoryies ;-).
[PROPOSAL]
I would like nominate Geoffrey Longman (glongman) for the committer list. Geoff has made an outstanding contribution to Tapestry with his Spindle development, and can provide an invaluable perspective (as an IDE developer) on the future development of the Tapestry framework.
Regards Malcolm
-Andy
