I say keep it split, I have so many distro's installed that I just use the online docs.
Although, a version of the toc (linked to the online docs) importable into Eclipse would be cool. :-D

2.2 splits the main file from the documentation, but most people appear to download both.
 
I was concerned that the single download was over 8MB.  The idea of the split was that users could download 5MB of code and use docs online.
 
However, if everyone is happy with a single big distro, we can switch it back.
 
Does a large distro get in the way of new adoption?  Opinions?
