Hi detlef,

There is the java.net.URLEncoder class for character encoding, see the encode() method. I dont know about german umlaut, but the Java 1.4 version of this class include a Locale parameter to this method.

I just wonder if tapestry has any facility to handle the transformation of for example german umlauts or characters like ">" to their HTML Entities like &auml; or &gt; respectively.
