Title: RE: [Tapestry-developer] Servlet Filters

You absolutely can use servlet filters with Tapestry. I do all the time.

If you want to pass information from a between filters and Tapestry, I suggest you use ServletRequest.get/setAttribute.

Subject: [Tapestry-developer] Servlet Filters

Hi All,
I just wanted to know, can I use Servlet filters in
Tapestry. I want to use filters for security. i.e In
our application we have around 10 menu options but all
the options are not available for all users. Based on
user / group the menu options are restricted. I used
filter to do this in previous project. Since we are
planning to use Tapestry for our new project  I wanted
to know can I use this with Tapestry. If yes, where do
I put this code.  I assume I need to put this in
ApplicationEngine( which extends SimpleEngine )
class.!!
Since we are all new to Tapestry we are going through
Neil's new Tutorial and Developer Guide. but still we
are comming up with lot's and lot's of doubts.  But we
are geeting most of the answers from this users group.

Thanks for this great and very help full community.

Regards
Sanjeev Hiremath
