I don't quite understand what the problem is that some people have with
the mailinglist. You can
1 - have it delivered by mail to your own account
2 - read it with an NNTP reader via gmane
3 - read it on the web using gmane
4 - search it using gmane
I don't see what is missing here, to be honest.
I especially like NNTP access, it is much more time efficient than
having to visit a forum every day. If there would be only a forum I
would definitely _not_ read it. I really think web forums are quite
outdated, and many people now prefer news or news-like access through
RSS feeds.
