contrib:Table headings produces nested tables

why is it that the contrib:Table renders its <th> headings as entire
new table within the th?

this causes all sorts of problems when you have CSS applying padding
and borders to tables...on top of that the inner table "align"
attribute is invalid XHTML Strict
