You should have a look at contrib/MultiplePropertySelection:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tapestry/tapestry-contrib/ComponentReference/MultiplePropertySelection.html
The default renderer is what you want:
CheckBoxMultiplePropertySelectionRenderer
