First, thanks for subscribing to the list. I've received quite a bit of
almost entirely constructive feedback over the past few days. The
emails had started to taper off a little bit until Slashdot posted a
second link to the project this morning. :)

I'm currently working on a draft of a tokenizer/classifier interface
specification; it's about 80% complete at the moment. Unfortunately,
I'll be traveling for a couple of days, and I won't be able to post it
until I return on Wednesday. I suppose the upside is that I'll have
more time to polish the document.

I think the interfaces will prove to be rather powerful. Besides
processing message content, other portions of the SMTP conversation can
provide information to the classifier, such as:

        - "IP address A.B.C.D just connected"
        - "The remote host is on a blacklist"
        - "Your proxied server responded with 'we do not relay' during this
session"

These events are all encoded into tokens, which are then passed to the
classifier. The document I'm currently writing provides a detailed
description of the process.

I hate to write such a teaser and vanish for a couple of days, but I
wanted to let you know that the project is progressing. I'm looking
forward to discussing the interfaces with you when I return, and I hope
to get to a point very quickly where I can receive code contributions
from others.
