Hi tarsnap users, Due to an ongoing issue with Amazon S3, Tarsnap is failing a lot of requests right now. If you're lucky your backups will complete after lots and lots of "lost connection, reconnecting in..." messages; if you're unlucky you'll get too many failures and tarsnap will give up.
As of ten minutes ago (an hour after the outage started) Amazon says they think they've uncovered the cause and are working on fixing it; I haven't seen any sign of fixing yet, but hopefully I'll be sending out another email before long to say that everything is back to normal.
