Assalaamu 'alaikum wr. wb. =================================== In a long advise Imam Musa Al-Kadim (AS) says: ... O Hisham: All see the stars, but only those who know their places and movements in the sky can be guided by them. Such is you when seeking to learn wisdom; only those who use the knowledge benefit when all are capable of acquiring it. O Hisham: learn that which you do not know, and teach those who do not know what you know. Respect the learned for his knowledge and avoid engaging him in useless or testing debates. Respect-less the ignorant, but be close to him, do not abandon him, and teach him. O Hisham: The Messiah Jesus "Essa" (AS) said to his disciples: O slaves of that which is harmful, you are often discouraged by the long trunks of Date-palms, always remembering their thorns and the difficulty of ascending them, but forgetting the sweetness and the benefits of its fruits. Similarly, wrongly prolonging the hardships of the righteous path by reminding your selves of its difficulties while overlooking that which awaits you in the destined hereafter from fruit, light, and pleasures. O slaves of the hurtful, remove Wheat-germs from your crop, cleanse it good, and mill it fine so you would find its taste and enjoy what it offers. Likewise, purify the sincerity of your faith and perfect its imperfections to find its sweetness and to gain its distanced bounties. It is deserving that I say to you : When finding a lamp, illuminating by burning oil, in a dark night; you would certainly make use of its light even if a foul-smelling wind was blowing around it. In the same way make use and take the wisdom from whomever you find it with, and let not the wicked intent of its possessor deter you from seeking it. O slaves of Worldly-life. The truth is what I utter when I say that you would not achieve the honors of the hereafter without abandoning your attachments. Do not count on repenting tomorrow to excuse your foul deeds today. As between you and tomorrow is a day and a night in which the rule of Allah could come and go. It is the truth that I utter when I say to you that he who does not carry a loan from someone is freer and less burdened to that who does; even when the loan carrier repays the loan faultlessly. As such is that who did not commit sin to the one that does. The one free of sin is less burdened and freer than the one with sins, even if he truthfully repents from it all. Know that the small sins which you take for granted and excuse for your selves are the traps of Satan. Lower its significance in your eyes he would, so you would overlook it, until it surrounds you and engulf you. It is the truth that I utter when I say that with regard to wisdom, people fall in two which are far apart in rank: One which is as perfect in action as in his words, as for the other, saying it perfectly he would, but with unwise deeds, deserting his own words he would. Surely joyful the learned in action; and surely, the learned in speech, is doomed. O slaves of the hurtful, take from the places where you prostrate to Allah (Ta'ala) prisons and confinements for your bodies and foreheads; and make your hearts dwellings for "Taqwa" (carefulness with regard to Allah's perfect justice); and do not let your hearts become a refuge for desires. Certainly, those most in panic when struck with misfortune is the most of you attached to this lower-world (Dunya); but to this lower-world is least attached are those who forbear the worst of tests. O slaves of the harmful, do not be the likes of a snatching bird, nor be in deception like a fox, nor be in betrayal as wolf; and like predators amongst people you should be not; this group you snatch from, another you deceive, and a third group of people you betray. It is the truth that I utter when I say to you that it does not help the body to appear in its best when its inner soul is a spoil at its best. Thus, your bodies, these which you admire the most, would not do you much when your hearts are at its worst. What is it that you gain when you clean your skins while your hearts are fouled at every beat?! Like a sieve that keeps the crumbs by ousting the milled wheat; such is you, ousting wisdom from your mouths at will, is what you do, and keeping the ill will in your chests, as well. O slaves of this lower-world: As a lamp that burns its self for others to shine its light; with your words, which you don't follow, others you show and forget yourselves. O people of Israel, crowed the learned in their gatherings, even when they are on their rides; as Allah (Ta'ala) revives withered hearts with the light of wisdom as a light rain does to a dead land. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Daftar Keanggotaan, e-mail (kosong): [EMAIL PROTECTED] Keluar Keanggotaan, e-mail (kosong): [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dokumentasi Milis : http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] Sumbangan Milis : BCA No. Rek 2311222751 (a.n Muhammad Sigit P)
