The rest of the story is I find the Bickford book 1 (found on line for free) is better than the Place book. Also found out, the technique most interested in here, is called duo.. meaning playing melody on more than one string, (double stops). Thank you Mike. Seems books 2 onward have more on duo than book 1. All smiles here about this. ljt
