I put some kind of Addario's on that white face and it sounded terrible. I had to take them off but my mando is different than yours. I like GHS strings for what i play. Yes, its up and down at my house re mando. I think its common for nearly everyone to have a dark hour now and again about things mando. I have not wrapped mine around a tree yet is all i can say about that. ha linda
