It is currently not possible in Taverna.  It could be done by adding 
transfer handling for dropping of the appropriate DataFlavor - I think 
it is stringFlavor.

We are currently changing our build mechanism so that we can do 
snapshots for Taverna that will be downloadable.  We also have the 
updating mechanism via the plugin manager.

But you would need to know that it was the URL to a WSDL rather than a 
string to be used as a string constant :-)  I could be feeding the 
string constant into a "read file" service and then manipulating the 
content with an xslt service.

It is certainly worth doing - I've created a Jira issue for it.
