That's a very good point.  I'm sorry if my response was demotivating - I 
didn't mean it to be.

We welcome help in developing Taverna.  It is most definitely not a 
closed project.  Details of how to contribute can be found on 
http://www.taverna.org.uk/developer-information

We are looking at how to get more people involved.  I've been looking at 
how other projects do it - I chose at random GIMP, Miro, OpenOffice and 
Firefox.  One of the best ideas seems to have small "projects" 
corresponding to stories of improvements that can be made in specific 
areas.  People can volunteer to work on specific projects.

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

Other projects have a mechanism whereby you can get write access to the 
repository by being approved by a project leader, normally after 
previous good work in submitting patches.
