I accidentally hit "send".  It wasn't meant to be that brief :-)

The xml splitters allow the xml document to be expanded (perhaps through 
several levels) until actual values can be entered.  See 
http://www.mygrid.org.uk/usermanual1.7/wsdl_processor.html

There is an ongoing issue to make the generation of the xml splitters 
more user-friendly.
