By all means when an update comes out, install it. I think what Stian 
was getting at is that they can't really do much if Apple decides to 
completely break the java vm. I think it Should Just Work(TM) if you 
switch your default VM to java SE 6 though.

Note that the security vulnerability this update fixed was extremely 
critical. From what I've read, even executing a malicious applet on a 
website is game-over in this case, so it's not like there isn't a good 
reason to update. In a perfect world Apple would run security updates 
separate to major functionality changes but it appears they don't.
