Thanks for highlighting this.  There are two similar issues in the 
bug-tracking system. It looks as if it may be caused by faulty locking 
of the database rather than actual corruption of it.

Yes please. Can you send them to me? The more information the better. 
I'm looking at some of the database-related code at the moment so will 
see if I can spot what's happening.

An alternative, as you suggest, would be some way of restarting the 
database. If the database is actually corrupted, it may be necessary to 
clear the tables.
