I've had a look at whats declared on the path on these training PCs. There's another JRE specified on the path that comes with some software already installed on these machines plus another version of dot. Its probably why there are these problems with the workflow diagram and REST service.

I've installed Java 1.5.0_12 on my XP machine (having uninstalled 1.6) and the workflow works fine, with no problems in the picture.
