To uninstall Taverna on Windows, given that you originally installed
using the Installer - should be as easy as select "Uninstall Taverna"
from the "Taverna 2.3" Start menu, alternatively select Taverna 2.3
for Uninstall from the standard "Programs and Features" menu in
Windows.

A wizard should then help you uninstall. Essentially it deletes the
"Taverna Workbench 2.3.0" folder from "C:\Program Files" (or
equivalent) and the start menu items.

If you installed Taverna by using the self-extracting archive, then
simply delete the folder containing taverna.exe.

It is correct that the Windows Uninstaller does not currently delete
the user settings and log files. (One of the reasons for this is that
multiple users on the computer might have been running Taverna)

If you reinstall the same version of Taverna, the existing
configuration would therefore be used. (If you uninstalled Taverna for
the purpose of getting a 'clean start' you should instead just have
deleted the Taverna user settings folder, as normally the installation
folder in Program Files would not be modified)

If you have not yet uninstalled Taverna, the easiest way to delete the
user settings folder is to:

a) Start Taverna
b) In the menu, select Advanced -> Show logs and data folder
A Windows Explorer window will appear
c) Quit Taverna (to avoid it locking files)
d) Delete everything in the folder (conf, t2-database, security, etc)
- optionally go one step up to delete the empty Taverna 2.3 folder

If you have already uninstalled Taverna, then see
http://www.mygrid.org.uk/dev/wiki/display/taverna/Taverna+home+directory
for details on how to locate this folder, the details depend on which
version of Windows you use - but generally you can just do Start->Run
and type %APPDATA% and find the subfolder named "taverna-2.3.0".
