Yes, as detailed in my other email message, SCUFL2 [1] is a standalone
API that allows building, inspection and modification of workflow
definitions. Version 0.9 of this is to be released this month - the
code is complete and already deployed to the Maven repositories,so it
is just a matter of updating the release notes and documentation. If
you want to have a sneak-look then have a look at the scufl2-usecases
module in the Github module [2].

(As the main developer of SCUFL2 I am sadly right now a bit squeezed
with various conferences and also the upcoming release of the Taverna
workbench).

The Taverna OSGi platform is a new API that allows interactions with
the Taverna engine, and avoids the previous problems with the Raven
plugin system by using a more standard OSGi/Spring system. This API
lets you deal with workflow runs and their progress, and is used by an
alpha version of the Taverna 3 command line tool. (We have not started
work on a Taverna 3 workbench based on this yet)

The first alpha version (roadmap unfortunately calls it a beta, but we
need to do an alpha first) Taverna OSGi platform will be released in
February - David Withers is the main developed of this and might have
more details.
