There's exactly one known issue with the server that's truly blocking 2.3, in the security context handling. This issue is tracked in Jira at: http://www.mygrid.org.uk/dev/issues/browse/TAVSERV-184
The other open blocking issues are either in the client libraries or in the deployment configuration. The former is Rob's bailiwick, the latter is mine (and possibly intractable; TAVSERV-113 appears to be a complex interaction between various frameworks and it _is_ easy to work around).
