I'm also using virtual box (3.1.8) with Windows XP Profissional version
5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600

Before installing the VC++ package I did search for the indicated dll
and it was actually missing.

IMHO, this is  some sort of "fluke case", and maybe the only thing to do
is to include it  in Taverna's documentation "Some users  have reported
blablablalb"
