Dear users and developers,
Yesterday we found a problem in Taverna 2.4, that we thought (hoped)
would be resolved in this version. We have a workflow with services that
requires XML splitters for their input and output. Unfortunately, it
runs unacceptably slow. For a previous version we got a tip that
switching off provenance (in File -> Preferences) can resolve this
issue, and indeed it does. Obviously, we loose some of the intermediate
data options when looking at the results.
I would like to request that until this issue is resolved, we can get a
hint in Taverna about this problem. Most users won't think of switching
off provenance in the preferences, I presume. I can imagine that we
either get this hint when a workflow is running for a long time, or - if
you know the cause, but cannot resolve it yet - give a warning when the
workflow is checked for potential problems. It would be nice if we can
switch provenance off directly when we get this warning, without going
to the Preference dialog.
Many thanks,
Marco.
