Hi All,

Over the next few months there will be some changes to services from
major providers that will impact Taverna users, these are:

1. KEGG will be moving from a WSDL/SOAP interface to REST. The WSDL
services will be decommissioned on the 31st December 2012.
Details of the new REST services can be found here:
http://www.genome.jp/kegg/rest/keggapi.html

There are over 120 workflows in myExperiment that use KEGG services, so
this will have a large effect on myExperiment. These workflows will
therefore not function completely from Jan 2013. If you have workflows
with KEGG services, please update them with the KEGG REST equivalents.

2. The soaplab emboss service-set from the EBI will be decommissioned
from Feb 1st 2013 (see here for more details:
http://www.ebi.ac.uk/Tools/webservices/soaplab/overview). Some of these
services have been reimplemented as part of the main EBI web services
collection (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/Tools/webservices/about/webservices).
If you use other soaplab emboss services, you may want to consider
hosting your own set.

There are around 30 workflows on myExperiment that use these services.
If they are yours, please update them with the new EBI equivalents.

If anyone knows of any other planned changes to services, please let us
know.

Best wishes,

Katy
