Hello Januk and all you Batters out there.
At Sunday, September 17, 2000, 9:18:52 AM, Januk jotted down that:

JA> Is there any reason why these folders must exist? If so, why must
JA> they be top level folders? They seem to lose their special
JA> properties when they are not top level folders.

I did some experimenting, and - indeed - I think this IS a bug.

1. Moving the System folders (Inbox,Outbox,Sent,Trash) into other
folders enables the user to rename or delete them.
2. Of course, DELETING a system folder causes its functionality to
   become crippled:
   - without the Inbox Bat! won't download any mail,
   - without the Outbox the user can't Save or Queue for Delivery any messages,
   - without the Sent folder Bat! won't send any mail,
   - without the Trash the "delete to trash" command causes Bat! to crash.
3. If the folders are MOVED and/or RENAMED elsewhere, they still work
   fine.
4. If you make more than one folder with the same name - but in
different folders - you can then move them all into one folder, and
you'll have, for example, five "blahblah" folders with the same
name in the same folder. Now this IS a bug.

The folders are apparently recognized by their name, AND "targeted" by
their "handles": if you make a folder named "inbox", it'll start
working as a system Inbox immediately.
