Can't verify now, but I am almost certain since it was NAV making the outside connection and it is only a little over a week since I've uninstalled NAV. If there was an infected file attached NAV would strip it from the email. You would receive it in the appropriate folder. When viewing the email you would see some notation left by NAV in the file attachment pane. I never got a POP up or any notice because of the option chosen. So if the corporate version can work like the retail version with a similar configuration that I had, the infected file attachment never made it to the .tbb files. I never had any problems with downloading with TB and NAV. Like I said in another message in this thread I used this on an account used on Usenet. 99.9% of the email was spam with infected files attached with a 10 MB limit which I typically received in a little over a days time.
