So have I. One of those enables me to use the same template for all of
the TB lists, while maintaining it just at one place.

Because that's the way it's intended.

There are two ways to do what you want, the first is to create a QT
and start that manually when you're addressing the whole group.
The second way is using the same QT but use an %If: macro in your
group template that tests for the number of addressees.

However this is no subject for tbbeta, because it's just the normal
way TB is behaving. So any follow-ups would be more in place at tbudl
or tbtech.
