Hello all,

Last night Stephan suggested the use of a VF as a 'replacement' for a
real Drafts folder and I assume it was him, but I don't know, who
uploaded two PNGs in BT to show 'how easy it is'. Well I have added two
notes to BT that basically say:

To whomever has uploaded the two PNGs 'suggesting' the use of a Virtual
Folder:

1.- He hasn't stopped to think what I am proposing and why

2.- A VF is NOT an alternative to OPF.

3.- With a VF, messages to be sent and drafts will still be mixed in the
same physical folder, Outbox

4.- A VF doesn't solve the issue of distinguishing drafts from messages
to be sent that the user has parked for whatever reasons. The park and
draft flag is the same.

5.- With a separate Drafts folder, the risk of unintentionally sending
out a draft is minimised as the user has to open the draft in Editor and
then Send.

6.- A VF doesn't change the fact that you can still copy/move messages to
Outbox, maybe unintentionally, and even with filters and with folder
Alternate Deletions and you still need the euphemistically called Outbox
Protection Feature.

7.- A VF is not a solution for the so called 'average users' who may not
well understand what VFs are, specially at first, and specially for
novice ones who are initially annoyed because they can't find the Drafts
folder everyone expects at first.

8.- If I suggest that draft messages be always initially parked in not
to avoid (or minimise) the risk sending them out unintentionally but of
deleting them and perhaps waste hours of work.

And something I forgot when I opened this TB wish:

- A real Drafts folder should allow saving the draft message without
having filled the To or Subject fields (required now to save a draft in
Outbox). A draft is a non finished message/document you are working on
and you may not know exactly to whom you are going to send it or what
you want the Subject to be. How is that solved with a VF or with the
current implementation of Outbox?

Finally, whoever has uploaded the PNGs, hasn't stopped to think what the
words 'concept', 'logic', 'elegance', 'simplicity' and 'intuitiveness'
mean.

And, as the Subject says, that is all about this Drafts folder issue on
my part. I don't want to further discuss with anyone to avoid perhaps
getting into 'personal issues'.
