Yes, this is a shortcoming of their email client.

It is. That's why I delete the HTML attachment. Which of course
deletes the colouring of the incoming messages. ("See my replies in
blue".) This is the area where Outlook and Eduroa are superior to The
Bat!, I cannot just add my replies in green.
