This is what happened over here:

After starting up TB!, the All tab was active. I read messages in some
folders then came across this thread.

Upon switching to the Unread tab, all folders in which I had already
read the messages, were listed. Folders in which there were no unread
messages to begin with, were not shown. This is as if the Unread tab
had been active from the beginning.

Switching to the All tab and then back to the Unread tab solved the
problem.
