Thank  you  for coming back on this tormenting issue. Here's a summary
of the problem.

I  have  set the View --> Global view mode to "No view". I assume that
by  definition  I  only  need  to do this once since it deals with all
folders at the same time.

Secondly,  I  have  set  individual  folder view modes using the menu:
Folder  -->  Folder  view mode. Under this setting, one of the modes I
have is to list the received email by Reference and by date created. I
have  the ascending order unticked in the relative dialog. Note that I
would  like  to see received email threaded, but by order of creation,
with  the latest created emails at the top of the listing. The problem
is  that  after  I  reboot the PC, or when new email arrives, the sort
order  in  the  folder  view  changes.  I  reset it by clicking on the
"Created"  column,  but  the  problem  is  repeated  after the next PC
restart.
