One  of  the  reasons  --  bandwidth  saving. You have only one ad per
digest, AFAIK.

I  am going to subscribe to accountant's list for my wife, who has now
internet  access and will read them as plain text, I am going to do it
in digest mode, no matter plain text, or MIME.
