Once again, The Bat seems to have automatic operations that cannot be turned
off.  This time, it is the creation of a copyright symbol when trying to a "c"
within a parenthesis:

I frequently type legal references to all sorts of rules, statutes, etc., and
the text, "(c)" is not infrequent.  Currently, the only way I can accomplish
this is by leaving a space between the "c" and the close parenthesis, and then
later deleting the space.  There must be a better way.   Can this automatic
feature be disabled?

If so, how?
