of "2 address book questions":

With the <Del> key. YOu can also use the <Space> key to "park" history
items.

No - auto-fill works from the history list. WARNING! This can cause
embarrassing problems when you want to write privately to someone to
whom you may have recently sent an on-list message!
To complete a partial address from the address book use Ctrl-Plus.
Subsequent presses will cycle through matching entries in the address
book.
