Hi Marck,

          On Sunday, November 05, 2000 @ 01:42:27 +0000, you
wrote the following about "setting TB! to text
          view"

Marck>> PGP quotes any line beginning '-' with '- '.

ok, so far I'm with you.

Marck>> We have macros published both here and on the FAQ to
Marck>> provide quote text which trims PGP signing
Marck>> information too.

ok, but this is not in question here, is it? By
that I mean, I'm trying to figure out how to
accommodate people like Kari (& presumably others)
who are disturbed when everything below the "-- "
is not automatically deleted because the PGP
signature process changes it to "- --"

Marck> On the FAQ templates page, we describe a macro which
Marck> can be used in a template to replace the standard
Marck> %QUOTES macro.

Often times I use a "clipcopy" macro that replaces
the %QUOTE text with the output of the clip board
          so I don't get a %QUOTESTYLE that doesn't make
sense which can be caused by how the sender's name
          is listed.

Marck> Under the "More on what makes them better", the final
Marck> section there is on Regular Expression support and
Marck> provides an example of "A regular expression macro to
Marck> put the extract quotation text from within a PGP
Marck> signed message with or without a preceding eGroups ad
Marck> block".

This is to automatically get rid of the eGroups
trash @ the bottom of those msgs, yes? Very
          useful.

Marck> Does that make anything clearer? Can I explain
Marck> anything about this in any more detail for you?

Yes, certainly, its clearer except for the
questions I've posed in reply. I'm getting it
          incrementally which is ok. The work is @ your end;
I just have to read. Many thanks.
