Sounds like it, alas. If you can't even *copy* the file,
something is seriously amiss.

The fact that you can't open it in a text editor might have
to do with its rather excessive size; (#) Notepad can't
handle files that big. Have you tried opening it with
Wordpad? If you can, you might be able to manually copy some
of the messages that you find inside.


(#) 15 Mb is *huge* for an inbox. One of my folders
contains a 1,5 Mb message file, and that contains circa 350
messages. Using that ratio as an approximation, your inbox
would amount to circa 3500 messages; and I can't imagine
that this is (was) the case. Have you ever compacted it?

I disagree. It's very much the same issue as the PGP one.
First of all, everybody has their own favourite method of
making backups. Secondly, and more importantly, whatever
Ritlabs might be able to provide us with for backup
procedures will most probably be less versatile and solid
than dedicated backup programs.
