All folder that have this option enabled in their properties will use
the same column settings. You can change these column settings by
modifying the column settings of any of these folders (the other folders
will reflect the changes that you made). You have full control over what
these default settings are.

You can change the column settings by right clicking on any of the
column headers or going to View | Message List Colours.
