This could throw out the proper chronologic sorting of the thread.
This is why I prefer using received time. If I wish to know the
creation time, I examine the message itself or include the column in
the message listing. I can sort by received time without having the
'received time' column visible.

When downloading a batch of messages, the received times for them may
appear identical if they're downloaded within a minute, since TB!
displays the time to the minute and not the second. However, the
messages are received in the order they were received by the server. I
therefore find that sorting by received time is a more foolproof way
of having messages threaded in the correct order.
