Looks pretty much like Base64 encoded string. Can you see
something similar to:
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
in the message header?
Base64 is an encoding that allows send any 8-bit characters
through old mail servers that do not accept anything but 7-bit
(us-ascci) characters.
You can turn the option 'allow 8-bit characters in message
headers' on. It's a bit dangerous though as the subject can be
completely lost:(
